Muffins are normally something I stay away from. Delicious, but pretty much the opposite of nutritious. My mom shared this pumpkin recipe with me and it’s my go to guilt free (or way less guilt) muffin!

Kale, Spinach and Blueberry Smoothie
I know, I know, EVERYONE is into smoothie making and juicing and has heard of, researched, or tried a smoothie diet or juice cleanse. My will power is not strong enough for feats that extreme — a juice cleanse includes a once a week burrito and wine, right? I believe in a balanced diet. This means part hamburgers, part brussels sprouts, part baguettes and part green (or purple) smoothies. Here’s why smoothies are part of my balance:
DIY Felt Flowers
This post was inspired by a friend of mine. Last year, around this time, we had a craft night. We were really sick of the winter and wanted to make something cheery and spring like. We came back from the craft store with rustic wreath frames, flower wrapping wire and a bunch of felt. We ended up with cute wreaths covered with bursts of felt flowers.
The felt flowers are super easy to make, super versatile and look pretty impressive for something that only take minutes of your time. And, today is Valentine’s Day…these are the Valentine’s flowers that will last forever!
Chicken au Champagne
One night, shortly after New Years, I found myself googling “cooking with champagne”. I think part of me was holding on to the holiday spirit and part of me just wanted a reason to drink champagne. I mean, what’s better than a recipe that calls for champagne? You really can’t let the rest of the bottle go to waste, and should enjoy it while cooking.
I came across Chicken au Champagne and have made this dish twice, tweaking with my own modifications.

Yesterday was the Super Bowl and an exciting and crazy win for the Patriots! Today, a good chunk of New England is snowed in as we get slammed with another foot of snow (two feet already on the ground just wasn’t enough). What this means for many New Englanders is that we got to stay up later than normal on a school night to celebrate — knowing that we’d wake up to a snow day. Well executed, snow!
Snacking is important while watching football. After searching around, I cobbled together this recipe for buffalo chicken meatballs, adding and subbing healthy elements. It’s a keeper! A tasty Super Bowl snack that won’t give you a heart attack.
